The northern suburbs of Toronto where vast featureless plains are endless, this summer pond became my photographic hotspot. Facing east just seconds after the sun's disappearence to the horizon, while it was still glowing red on the west, guess I just preferred the tranquilness.

An urban pillow fight at the heart of downtown Toronto. The perspective encapsulates a pluralistic blend of individualities set against an urban backdrop of ascending skyline, while leaving much room for the viewer's imagination.

Cornered by strips of freeways and barren construction lands the confined site would soon be lost to the redundancies of urban planning, doing little to reflect its Genius Loci; its title 'The Last to Fall' stresses on the inevitability and irreversibility of suburbanization.

An element of time comes into play through the alternate meanings of 'last' and 'fall'; expressing a desire to outlive the summer in a bleak tone, as its disappearance was as sure to happen as the change of seasons - a metaphoric notion to be explored by the viewer, delivering a personal experience beyond the image's documentary value.

Live performance by a Toronto based hip hop group at 102.1 The Edge radio station. Entry was free so I put my roll of Tri-X to work at EI1250. Fair music though I hadn't given much attention to the lyrics as I squeezed for a tight spot to capture this shot.
