Using the French Sign Language hand lettering, I visually translated the moral of an old aesop fable, "The Ox and the Tree Axels". For this piece I went back to my kindergarten years and did some hand painting, editing it in Photoshop to become a 3-colour production design.

Webkinz is an exciting interactive world of pets, games, and challenging tasks. As part of the Graphic Art & Marketing team, I was responsible for developing concepts for a new homepage layout and interface design. Working with Marketing coordinators, we developed tests to gauge the effectiveness of each design. The result is a design that reflects the tactile playfulness of Webkinz with an integrated login sign, redesigned buttons, and improved legibility and accessibility of each component (login, info, ads, etc).

On Thin Ice

A brand and exhibition designed for the Ontario Science Centre, "On Thin Ice: Youth Respond to International Polar Year" was aimed to bring awareness about environmental issues in the arctic. Together with a team of York/Sheridan Design students, I developed an identity and exhibition piece that would appeal to both children [a large portion of the Science Centre's visitors] as well as adults who must also become more aware of the impact of our actions on a world so seemingly far away from ours.

We particularly focused on the subject of Persistent Organic Pollutants [POPs] and the Dirty Dozen [the twelve most prominent and damaging of the pollutants]. Not only do we get a clearer idea of where the pollutants originate, but how they affect the animals directly.

This 4-panel display also featured fantastic illustrative work by Justin Hseih, and the explorations and studies of Dr. Hayley Hung, and was on display in the !dea Gallery.

B.Y.O.S. earbuds - 3D Render

A design for in-ear earbuds to isolate music and keep out background noise. B.Y.O.S. [bring your own sound] addresses the issue of how easy it is to damage our ears when we blast the volume on personal media devices [i.e. iPods, mp3 players] to compensate for competing noise. Initially designed to be wireless.

An accompanying handheld to tell the story behind Get a Grip: A Parkour initiative to get Torontonians active and rediscovering the massive playground that is our downtown architecture.

Inside, each card describes a parkour move [in this case the Saut de Chat / Monkey Vault]
The intention is to peak curiosity and motivation to be more active, and to see Toronto in a new, playful light. All contained in a compact, convenient pocket guide.

Toe Box opened

Constructed completely of paper, these containers were so much fun to make. They function as a display piece as well as a container for light objects like notes, stationary, craft materials, etc.

Here the toebox is opened up to become a ballet flat / slipper, drawing out the contents.
